In conclusion, SCU may alleviate diabetic cardiomyopathy by upregulating the autophagy-related factors (Beclin-1, LC3-I, and LC3-II) and downregulating apoptosis-related factors (caspase-3, caspase-8, caspase-9, caspase-12, Bax, and Cyt-C) of cardiomyocytes. This evidence concerns the gene CASP12 and diabetic cardiomyopathy.
