By increasing Nrf2 downregulation and enhancing ROS generation, parthenolide (PN) and its soluble counterpart dimethyl amino parthenolide (DMPN) have been demonstrated to diminish mammosphere development in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell lines, as well as the survival of mammosphere-derived CSCs, most likely through increased ubiquitination and proteasome degradation (Carlisi et al., 2016). The gene discussed is NFE2L2; the disease is triple-negative breast carcinoma.
