In women without ovarian cancer, serum CA125 was significantly higher in those under 50 years (14 vs. 11 U/mL (p < 0.001)), whereas serum HE4 was significantly higher in women over 50 years (52 vs. 68 pmol/L (p < 0.001)). The gene discussed is WFDC2; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
