With regard to the WNT pathway, the top 30 DEGs comprised several genes associated with CTNNB1-independent signaling (e.g., CAMK2B, VANGL2), however, the majority of DEGs were known target genes of the classical CTNNB1-dependent, canonical pathway (e.g., AXIN2, LGR5, TCF7, CDX1), which is consistent with its known role as a driver of tumorigenesis in CRC. This evidence concerns the gene CTNNB1 and colorectal carcinoma.
