Seven monoclonal antibodies targeting the PD-1 (pembrolizumab, nivolumab, and cemiplimab), PD-L1 (atezolizumab, durvalumab, and avelumab) and CTLA-4 (ipilimumab) have been approved for the treatment of different malignancies such as melanoma and NSCLC, and showed impressive long-term results, but only in subgroups of patients.
