SIRT6 and renal fibrosis: Our results suggest that the loss of Sirt6 in proximal tubules aggravates UUO-induced renal fibrosis and that Sirt6 activator MDL-800 mitigates UUO-induced renal tubulointerstitial inflammation and fibrosis by regulating Sirt6-dependent β-catenin acetylation and ECM protein transcription.
