IκBζ is a nuclear transcriptional cofactor that plays a role as the mediator of the expression of IL-36α-induced genes, including S100A7, S100A8, S100A9, LCN2, DEFB4, IL36G, SERPINB4, and CXCL8 [63], IL-17A-induced genes, including DEFB4, S100A7, NFKBIZ, and LCN2 [69,70], and IL-17A/TNF-α-induced gene, including DEFB4, LCN2, CXCL8, IL17C, NFKBIZ, and IL36G [69,70,71,72] in KCs. The gene discussed is IL36G; the disease is dry eye syndrome.
