Thus, to clarify the role of NT in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus during acanthamoebiasis in relation to the host immune status, the purpose of this study was to determine how brain acanthamoebiasis affects the concentrations of the neurotrophins BDNF, NGF, NT-3, and NT-4.
