Post-hoc comparisons confirmed a significant stroke-induced upregulation in GFAP+ve expression within the CC of stroke animals treated with a vehicle (p < 0.0001), but not compound G. Moreover, whilst all sham animals displayed similar GFAP+ve expression in the CC, compound G-treated stroke animals (168,510 ± 104,174) displayed significantly less expression in the CC relative to vehicle-treated stroke controls (p < 0.0001). The gene discussed is GFAP; the disease is stroke disorder.
