PPARD and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis: The development of a PPARδ-selective agonist seladelpar (MBX-8025) for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) has been once discontinued at phase 2b clinical trial [12] and seladelpar is now only in phase 3 trial for primary biliary cholangitis (ClinicalTrials.gov number: NCT03301506) [13], although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) lifted clinical holds on seladelpar for investigational new drug applications in NASH and PSC on 23 July 2020 [14].
