Adult ALL shows great cytogenetic heterogeneity, with subsets harbouring translocations like t(4;11), t(1;19), t(12;21) or t(9;22) resulting in MLL-AF4, PBX-E2A, ETV6-AML1, or BCR-ABL fusion proteins, respectively [31]. The gene discussed is AFF1; the disease is acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
