KLK4 and cancer: Similar findings have been reported that miR-378a-5p can suppress angiogenesis of oral squamous cell carcinoma by targeting KLK4 and indirectly reducing VEGFA expression [33] or promotes tumor angiogenesis by directly and indirectly upregulating VEGFA, including metastatic melanoma [34, 35], which may be explained by the cancer-type specificity, cellular-context dependence, or selection of signaling pathway.
