Indeed, it has been observed that in the experimental model of UUO-induced renal damage, or immune mediated glomerulonephritis, BET inhibition by JQ1 markedly reduced renal fibrosis, which is coincident with dephosphorylation of NF-κBp60 and/or other transcriptional factors/co-factor such as STAT3 and Smad3 (Zhou et al., 2017). Here, STAT3 is linked to renal fibrosis.
