In AD, activation of microglia is triggered after binding to soluble Aβ, which is mediated by cell surface receptors such as CD36, CD47 and α-6/β-1 integrin etc. This process is followed by the stimulation of intracellular Tyr kinase-based signaling cascades which are responsible for the secretion of inflammatory molecules and accumulation of intracellular Aβ (29). Here, CD36 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
