CAMK2G and Tinnitus: Taken together, electrophysiological data shows that inhibition of CaMKII α-hM4Di-positive DCN cells indeed lowers the average firing rate of DCN neurons, as well as affecting tuning width and best frequency in the DCN circuitry within the 8–16kHz range, which may decrease the tinnitus perception as seen by behavioral improvement of GPIAS after CNO administration.
