MBP and ischemic stroke: Consistent with MBP and SMI32 staining results, ischemic stroke caused damage to myelin microstructure as confirmed by reduced myelin density (Fig. 3B), increased g-ratio of small (diameter < 0.4 μm), medium (diameter = 0.4-0.8 μm) and large (diameter > 0.8 μm) axonal fibers (p < 0.05, Fig. 3C), and the higher myelin sheath g-ratio fitting line (Fig. 3D) in the PBS group after 28 days of tMCAO.
