Previous studies showed that ADR resistance was closely related with glycolysis responses in AML and CML.32,33 For instance, Song et al.32 showed that the expression of glucose metabolism-related genes such as glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1) and HK2 was markedly upregulated in blasts from AML patients after chemotherapy with no remission compared with healthy control group and patients with complete remission or partial remission, indicating that the relevance between of glucose metabolism and chemotherapy responses in AML patients. The gene discussed is HK2; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
