Our previous findings suggest that overexpression of PRDX5 can eliminate intracellular ROS production and regulate the classical apoptotic pathway to inhibit emodin-induced apoptosis in gastric cancer cells [23]; PRDX5 also mediates β-lapachone-induced apoptosis by reducing intracellular ROS levels and inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in SW480 colon cancer cells [24]. This evidence concerns the gene PRDX5 and gastric cancer.
