In a clinical study in men with LUTS and OAB, diabetes was present as a comorbidity in 10 of 44 responders but in 0 of 9 nonresponders (Matsuo et al. 2020), indicating that the effects of tadalafil and possible other PDE5 inhibitors in LUTS may not be attenuated by concomitant diabetes. The gene discussed is PDE5A; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
