Several drugs that enhance chaperone expression have been developed, and some of them are in clinical trials for the treatment of ALS, including arimoclomal, a co-inducer of Hsp70 and Hsp90, and colchicine, which generally induces HspB8 expression, thereby slowing the deterioration of ALS [127, 128]. Here, HSPB8 is linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
