We found that after chronic ethanol consumption, SIRT1 up-regulation via SalA increased LAMP-2 and RAB7 protein levels in AML-12 cells; however, SIRT1 knockdown notably inhibited this increase, suggesting that autophagosome–lysosome fusion promoted by SalA was mostly abrogated in the presence of SIRT1 siRNA (Fig. 5a). This evidence concerns the gene SIRT1 and acute myeloid leukemia.
