Spexin involves regulating food intake, body weight, and energy homeostasis through neuroendocrine functions and also, it regulates glucose and lipid metabolism [14].Spexin is also involved in Noonan syndrome- an autosomal dominant genetic disorder characterized by craniofacial abnormalities and Bjornstad syndrome rare disorder with abnormal neural deafness [7,13].It was reported that downregulation of spexin gene and its concentration in serum is associated with obesity, type 2 DM, hypertension & CVD in metabolic syndrome conditions [15]. This evidence concerns the gene SPX and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
