We also found high levels of GLS1 (26 out of 40 cases over 1.5‐fold change) and GLS2 (25 out of 40 cases over 1.5‐fold change) expression in association with human HCC tumours, suggesting that further investigations are warranted to delineate the regulation and function of the two genes based on their roles in glutamine metabolism, non‐enzymatic functions and redox maintenance. Here, GLS is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
