The selected genes were: (a) RASSF1A, a tumor suppressor gene involved in cell proliferation and apoptosis [27] (b) SHOX2 acting as transcription factor [28], (c) SLFN11 that is described for its role in differentiation and cell proliferation [29], (d) APC that participates in cell migration, adhesion transcriptional activation and apoptosis [30] and (e) FOXA1, a transcription factor which positively regulates tumor growth and metastasis [31]. The gene discussed is SHOX2; the disease is neoplasm.
