CGAS and neoplasm: In human colon carcinoma (Xia et al., 2016), melanoma (Falahat et al., 2019), glioma (Ohkuri et al., 2014), and hepatoma cell lines (Thomsen et al., 2020), tumor cells can evolve strategies to inhibit the activation of the cGAS–STING signaling pathway and reduce the production of IFN-β, which is conducive to the survival of tumor cells.
