Strikingly, although previous studies have revealed that FMRP might participate in RAC1 translation in mouse hippocampal neurons and Drosophila [23, 24], our results confirmed that FMRP loss in acral melanoma and cutaneous melanoma could lead to increased RAC1 expression at the mRNA and protein levels (Fig. 6f, g). This evidence concerns the gene RAC1 and acral lentiginous melanoma.
