BRD2 and carcinoma: In fact, the “bioenergetic signature” [42] of the carcinomas was significantly diminished when compared to NAT (0.48 ± 0.06 versus 1.08 ± 0.08, P < 0.001 for tumor and NAT, respectively), in agreement with previous similar findings in lung cancer [28, 43], suggesting that the capacity for the synthesis of ATP by OXPHOS is somehow limited in mitochondria of LUAD when compared to NAT mitochondria.
