Zhang et al. (2014) demonstrated that an increased expression of miR-31 could decrease E2F6, resulting in the sensitization of prostate cancer cells to docetaxel-induced apoptosis. Similarly, miR-205 and miR-31 promote chemotherapeutic agent-induced apoptosis of prostate cancer cells by down-regulating Bcl-w and E2F6 (Bhatnagar et al., 2010). This evidence concerns the gene E2F6 and prostate cancer.
