Wang et al. identified 1997 annotated ncRNAs by performing high-throughput microarray in 220 human glioma tissues and found that the expression of HOXA11-AS was dramatically increased in classical and mesenchymal subtype glioma than that in neural and proneural subtypes, indicating that HOXA11-AS holds great potential to act as a useful biomarker for classifying glioma subtypes (Wang et al., 2016a). This evidence concerns the gene HOXA11 and glioma.
