NOS3 and Hypertension: Kukongviriyapan et al. (2014) have disclosed that both curcumin and tetrahydrocurcumin are effective in ameliorating cadmium-evoked hypertension and vascular dysfunction in mice (Kukongviriyapan et al., 2014; Sangartit et al., 2014). In agreement with these results, oral administration of hexahydrocurcumin, another major metabolite of curcumin, possesses antihypertensive actions by inhibiting vascular inflammation and oxidative stress, and activating the eNOS/NO pathway in aortic tissues, thus ameliorating vascular remodeling in hypertensive rats induced by L-NAME (Panthiya et al., 2022).
