CRC patients with distant metastasis had significant differences (all p < 0.01) in the age, race, insurance status, histology type, primary tumor sites, grade, tumor size, T stage, N stage, and serum CEA level as compared with patients without metastasis, but there was no statistical difference in gender (p = 0.13) and married status (p = 0.09). The gene discussed is CEACAM5; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
