Our in vivo transcriptional dataset revealed Bin1 to regulate gene transcripts in a manner inverse to Cx3cr1. Ongoing investigations of microglia-specific BIN1 deletion using the Tmem119Cre-ERT2 driver [97] in models of AD pathologies will help determine whether microglial BIN1 may function to protect against both amyloid and tau aggregations. This evidence concerns the gene BIN1 and Alzheimer disease.
