This study also found that GOL increases the expression level of AQP5 and decreases the expression level of MUC5AC in the lung tissues of pneumonia rats, which was similar to the results of Gao's study [18], indicating that GOL could act on the epithelial cells of lung tissues, improve the process of water metabolism, promote the elimination of respiratory mucus, and achieve the effect of alleviating the clinical symptoms of the disease. The gene discussed is MUC5AC; the disease is pneumonia.
