In the last few decades, several types of genetic mutations have been observed in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including genomic alterations in anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), ROS proto-oncogene 1 (ROS1) and rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (RAS) (Lee et al., 2016). The gene discussed is ROS1; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
