CEVs encapsulate the stress-inducible NKG2D ligands, MHC-class I related protein chain A/B (MICA/B) and Ul-16 binding protein-1 (ULBP-1) and -2 that acts as a decoy, by down-regulating the NKG2D-mediated cytotoxicity of NK cells in T- and B-cell leukemia/lymphoma (Clayton and Tabi, 2005; Mincheva-Nilsson and Baranov, 2014b). This evidence concerns the gene MICA and lymphoma.
