The coefficient for SARS-CoV-2 protein Nucleocapsid and ACE2 in the infected sample was found to be 0.581, indicating a less positive correlation, which could be due to the reduced expression of ACE2 in infected samples as previously reported in an independent study showing that ACE2 expression is altered in disease conditions or during viral infections (Kuba et al., 2005; Glowacka et al., 2010; Gheblawi et al., 2020). Here, ACE2 is linked to viral infectious disease.
