Downregulation of CD98hc expression via shRNA in the pancreatic cancer cell lines PANC-1 and BxPC-3 resulted in a significant (p<0.05, in both cases, after 48h and 72h) inhibition of cell proliferation in shCD98hc cells as compared to control cells (transduced with shRNA, shneg) and wildtype cells in both cell lines (Figure 4A and 4B). Here, SLC3A2 is linked to familial pancreatic carcinoma.
