TP53 and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: We observed that the most frequent TP53 single base substitution (SBS) is the G:C>T:A transversion (26.2%) related to smoking in ESCC, followed by the G:C>A:T transition (19.0%) probably associated with chronic inflammation and the aristolochic acid-related A:T>T:A transversion (19.0%) (17).
