The discovery linking pyrimidine starvation to cell fate in AML has reinvigorated interest in DHODH as an anticancer target and has spurred extensive efforts to develop more potent and selective next‐generation inhibitors (Sykes et al, 2016; Cao et al, 2019; Christian et al, 2019; McDonald et al, 2020; Zhou et al, 2020). This evidence concerns the gene DHODH and acute myeloid leukemia.
