When we examined the association between MELK levels and patient OS at 60 months, we found that MELK and increased neutrophil (HR = 4.636, 95% CI 1.170, 18.369, p = 0.029) and macrophage (HR = 6.202, 95% CI 1.578, 24.378, p = 0.009) levels were linked with poorer HCC patient survival outcomes, as shown in Figure 8C and 8D. The gene discussed is MELK; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
