In a mouse model of transverse aortic constriction- (TAC-) induced cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure [104], Plin5-deficient mice had an enlarged cardiomyocyte cross-section compared to wild mice after TAC, and their lipid content in the myocardium was reduced approximately three times more than that of wild-type mice. This evidence concerns the gene PLIN5 and cardiac hypertrophy.
