Next, we examined the effect of CYP2E1 on the expression of the important Wnt/β-catenin pathway members in HCC cells and found that the protein levels of Dvl2 (Dishevelled 2), β-catenin, TCF4, LEF1(lymphoid enhancer factor 1) and c-Myc were decreased in SMMC-7721-CYP2E1 and MHCC-97H-CYP2E1 cells compared with their control cells (Fig. 3B).
