LEP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency: The higher levels of leptin in our hypothyroid children and adolescents with obesity compared to lean hypothyroid patients and the presence of a significant positive correlation between leptin and BMI and the lack of a significant correlation between leptin and thyroid hormones in hypothyroid children and adolescents with obesity suggest that the relationship between leptin and thyroid hormone in hypothyroid children with obesity may be different and affected by additional factors related to obesity.
