Several studies have shown that quercetin can delay IDD progression through multiple signaling pathways, mainly including (1) quercetin can prevent IDD by regulating p38 MAPK-mediated autophagy [30]; (2) quercetin can promote SIRT1-dependent autophagy to prevent IDD [31]; (3) QUE inhibits the expression of SASP and senescence phenotype in NPC and improves the progression of IDD through Nrf2/NF-κB axis [32]. This evidence concerns the gene SIRT1 and intervertebral disk degenerative disorder.
