IFITM3 and systemic lupus erythematosus: IFITM3 is an interferon-induced transmembrane protein whose role in SLE is unclear, but it can inhibit the production of IL-6 (Stacey et al., 2017) and regulate the differentiation of T helper cells (Yánez et al., 2020), so it may help to regulate the inflammatory response and immune regulation in SLE.
