AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma: There was no significant difference in MELD scores (12.3±5.3 vs. 12.3±5.9, p=0.493) at diagnosis of HCC. In addition, there was no significant difference in the proportion of patients diagnosed within Milan criteria (44.5% vs. 45.7%, p=0.833), the proportion with metastases at diagnosis (34.4% vs. 28.7%, p=0.251), and AFP levels (35.7 vs. 22.0, p=0.309) at the time of diagnosis between the psychiatric and non-psychiatric groups (Table 3).
