The role of m6A methyltransferases in tumors has been partially reported; for example, METTL3 upregulation promotes the malignant progression of HCC by inhibiting SOCS2 expression through an m6A-dependent mechanism, and METTL14 inhibits proliferation and metastasis in colorectal cancer. This evidence concerns the gene METTL3 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
