Although it is still uncertain how SARS-CoV-2 infects extrapulmonary tissue, whether via the circulatory or lymphatic pathways, scientists have stated that the pathophysiology of COVID-19’s extrapulmonary manifestations might involve endothelial damage and thrombo-inflammation, dysregulated immune reactions, or disturbance of ACE2-related pathways (Gupta et al., 2020).
