In rats with lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), CM (10 ml/kg of BW) showed anti-inflammatory effects by reducing the amount of pro-inflammatory cytokines, IL-10 and IL-1β in the lung tissue, mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathways, alveolar wall thickness, lung injury scores, interstitial and intra-alveolar edema. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
