HNRNPA2B1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: Motivated by these results and the general existence of RNA-binding motifs in IDRs, we have scrutinized hnRNPA2, a protein involved in basic cellular pathways, like RNA processing and the formation of RNA transport granules [28], and also in disease, like multisystem proteinopathy (MSP) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) [29].
